5 Day old Newborn Session in Brierley Hill , West Midlands - Baby Alana
It can be hard in the first few days at home, especially when you’ve already got kids. Desperately trying to make sure the little one has eaten all her breakfast, struggling to get her arms into her school jumper while holding your newborn, and my favourite; the baby decides its snack time just as your walking out the door for the school run. Of course you want to preserve the delicate beauty of your latest addition, but you simply do not have the time or the energy to get yourself dressed up and out with both kids to a photography studio. That’s exactly why I offer West Midlands Newborn Photography Sessions at home.
The Hadley Family wanted all the fun of a Newborn Photography Session without the hassle. I had the great pleasure of meeting the latest addition to the Hadley Family, as they invited me to celebrate the birth of Alana Rose Hadley, 8Ibs 13oz at their home.. Babies grow at an extraordinary rate and before you know it there’s no longer your little baby anymore as they trot off to pre-school.
Did you know that:
From birth to age 6 months, a baby might grow 1/2 to 1 inch (about 1.5 to 2.5cm) a month and gain 5 to 7 ounces (about 140 to 200 grams) a week. Expect your baby to double his or her birth weight by about age 5 months. It’s so important to capture these changes within the first year. I would love to work with your family to ensure we capture these precious moments, you can find out more about these in my sessions guide.
The first two weeks is the best time for newborn sessions because they need a lot of shut-eye. In the first few weeks, your baby may sleep for up to 18 hours over the course of 24 hours. This makes posing them a lot easier, but also requires some special understanding and expertise, they are very fragile and need to snack a lot more than older children because their stomach is only the size of a hazelnut. This is why I allow a full 3 hours for my newborn sessions. It gives us plenty of time to work on their schedule, relax and enjoy the whole process.
Enjoy some of my favourite images from sweet baby Alana’s gallery. She was so well behaved and it was such a pleasure working with the whole family.
