5 Tips for choosing the right photographer
Find a Photographer Near You
Check google maps to see who is local to you. If you’re in a hurry, use your preferred search engine and enter the following query: “photographer near me.” or “(your location) (type of photographer, ie family) photographer.”
Take note of where they are located. If it is at all possible to have their location close by that would be ideal!

Check out their photos – Style (edit)
Every photographer has their own style of photos. Some perfect a more studio based posing, while other prefer more natural candid photo. Make sure they have something similar to what you are looking for.
Talk to them – Personality
Call or email the photographer’s studio and ask some questions. Are they personable? Do they sound like someone you would enjoy meeting with for a few hours? Ask about their personality, what type of photography do they specialise in, are there any samples that can be shown on site before booking an appointment.

Photo Products
We all want photos out of a photoshoot but what are you intending to do with them. Many photographer deal with digitals while others simply do not do them at all. If you already have an ideal of the kind of wall art, photo books, prints, frames you want; make sure you talk it through with them and they can deliver them.
Budget
It’s natural to have a budget in mind for this. Make sure you’re happy with the quote and that they are willing to work within your budget. Ask about discounts for longer photo shoots or buying packages of photos, which could be more economical in the long run.
Booking ahead
As with anything else you want to book ahead so it’s guaranteed before making a decision. The earlier this is booked then often there will also be a deposit required.
Thanks for a relaxing session. Ryan had lots of fun and I love the photos.
Social Reviews
Don’t be afraid to ask to see testimonials. They want you to happy just as much as you do. Checking Facebook Pages, Google or their website is a great place to start to make sure they’re plenty of happy customers. Look for repeat customers; why would you go back if you didn’t love it.
