What to do with all your photos?
We all have so many photos these days. According to Gigaom, the average person has 630 photos stored on their phone.
I have a lot more than that.
While I love the idea of printing them all, it’s not space effective. I’d need to buy a bigger house. It’s not like it used to be when your holiday photos were limited to the amount of film you had and there was no retakes back then. So we tend to take a LOT more photos now. But what do you do with them all?
Be honest, if you looked on your phone right now, how many photos do you have stored? How many of those have you used?
My favourite idea for children is doing a milestone album. Jack has a yearly family album to show him the best moments from the year. I love taking the time to go back through and picking my favourite to eternalise forever. It’s a great way to remind you how great a year has been and streamline the photos.

Creative ways to use your photos
I know, I literally just said that printing all of them isn’t effective and I totally agree with that, but that doesn’t mean don’t print any. A Print is tangible, It’s much easier to connect when you can hold it. It’s for you, it’s not held by social likes or comments, however that doesn’t stop it being sociable. You can still share it with friends, discuss it without any distractions. This works especially well when printing in large. I’ve never quite worked out why printing on a larger scale makes it feel more final, like I’ve committed to the final image.
Jack sends an email/letter to his grandparents with a few photos to let them know what he’s been up to recently. It’s a great way to connect with the family, remind your kids that not everything is instant and you should see his face when he receives a response. It’s amazing.
Family books, year books & Albums
When Jack was little I created a flipbook with all the members of the family in so he could learn who’s who. I was surprised how much he loved flicking through it and talking about the people in it. So of course I made me another, but you could use it for any number of topics.
One of my all time favourite things to do.
The Photos app automatically makes a movie for each Memory on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Tap the movie to play it. Then if you want to edit the movie, just tap the screen while it’s playing. You can adjust the movie music, length, and content.
Set the mood
Tap a different mood like Dreamy, Chill, or Epic to match your Memory’s content. Your movie’s music and title style will match the mood you choose.
Pick the length
Depending on the number of photos in the Memory, you can set the duration of the movie to Short, Medium, or Long.
Customise the movie
Tap Edit or to customize the movie even further — you can change the title, title image, music, duration, and photos that appear in the Memory movie.
Create amazing wall galleries in your hallway and get the whole family involved.
